Dogs Needing Homes
Frankie
Breed:
Dachshund
Age: AdultSex: Male
Size: Small Description: Introducing?..Foxy and Frankie! These two sweet purebred Dachshunds suddenly became homeless when their person had to move unexpectedly. Foxy just turned 7 years old on June 3. She is a wheaten wirehaired girl (although she had a short haircut recently) while Frankie, Foxy's lifelong partner, is ten years old and is a red smooth-coated Dachshund.
These darling little dogs are gentle and loving and both are so very eager to please! They are extremely affectionate little dogs and just appreciate being able to hang out with their special person. True to their breed, they are good watch dogs, but both are pretty quiet, especially Foxy who rarely barks. When Frankie was younger, he was abused and ended up at a shelter, but he harbors no ill will toward humans andlike most dogs with a sad pasthe is especially appreciative of love and kindness shown him now, as is his little friend Foxy. These little ones are housetrained, love to go for walks, and they love to play. Frankie is very good at retrieving and will bring the ball right back to you. Foxy is a very quiet dog who loves affection, as does Frankie. Their photos do not do them justice as they are both so absolutely adorable. Although they love young children and are very good around them, Frankie and Foxy are small dogs and could easily be injured. Most Dachshunds, because of their very short legs and long backs, are not the ideal breed to have in a home with young children. This breed is more susceptible to back injuries and therefore should not be allowed to do jumping and stair climbing. Foxy did have surgery for an injured neck disc a few years ago, but she is fully recovered now. Foxy and Frankie are bonded with each other, and it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together. It is so much fun to watch them play and cuddle with each other, but they have lots of love to give to their human family too.
Frankie is neutered, up to date on shots, de-wormed, has had a fecal, has had a dental, blood work, and is micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $350.
