Ella is a 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier who was surrendered by a family that saved her from an abusive situation. In Ella's original home she was crated for excessive periods of time, she was also given human prescription medication which took her 6 months to detox from. Ella has overcome all of this. Obviously because of her past we would like her to go to a home that didn't feel the need to crate her.
Ella is a wonderful little terrier with a lot of love to give. She had a rough start in life, but is appreciating where she's at today. She likes to relax on a lap, in a comfy dog bed, or in an open crate. When she's not lounging around, she is happy to play indoors or outdoors. She loves getting her ears scratched, being petted, and just being paid attention to in general. She is doing well with her foster brother, but she and her foster sister are a little jealous of each other. She is also very protective of her food and treats. Because of this, Ella will most likely thrive in a home as an only dog (or at least the only female).
Ella is one of those excellent ready-made dogs. She walks well on a leash, is fully house-trained, and knows basic commands like sit and stay. Her forever family will be amazed at how loveable and loyal she will be, especially considering that she did not get the love and attention she deserved and needed for the first part of her life. She's loving the security of a safe foster home and will love her forever home even more
Like most Terriers, Ella has an extremely high prey drive and she should not go to homes with small animals or cats just to be safe. Ella is spayed and up to date with shots. She is negative for heartworm and parasites. Ella is microchipped and her adoption fee is $300.

- You must fill out an adoption application before you are allowed to meet the animal. Please complete the adoption application located on our website.
- Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philosophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, we must charge it.
