Dogs Needing Homes

Breed: Maltese

Age: Senior
Sex: Female
Size: Small
Description: Shelby is an 11 year old Maltese who weighs about 10-11lbs. Shelby was given up when her person had to go into assisted living. While she was given plenty of love and food, Shelby was somewhat neglected medically. Upon coming into rescue Shelby was in dire need of a dental and we discovered she is hypothyroid, her medication for this costs as little as 10 dollars a month. Her skin was also awful but with her thyroid meds, her skin and her weight will improve. Shelby also had a couple of benign fatty tumors removed and she also has a heart murmur.

Shelby is extremely sweet, she walks well on a leash and she is a real lady. She would like a home with another calm dog, because she is not in the mood to school a playful pup, and who can blame her! She is content being with her person and will happily devote her time to taking care of you.

Shelby is spayed, had a much needed dental with bloodwork and extractions. She is heartworm and intestinal parasite free. Shelby is up to date with shots and she is also microchipped, her adoption fee is $330.

You must fill out an adoption application before you are allowed to meet the animal. Please complete the adoption application located on our website.

Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philisophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, we must charge it.

We are offering a microchip placement for your resident dog for small donation to our rescue

Please note that we do not have a shelter, and all dogs are in foster homes. Since we strive to provide the best possible care for our animals, sometimes we cannot answer emails promptly. Please allow 48 hours for us to respond to you.

You must be 18 years of age to make an adoption request
