Dogs Needing Homes

Alvin

Breed: Cockapoo

Age: Young
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Description:
Hi, My name is Alvin. I'm from a puppy mill in Misourri where I was used as a stud breeding dog. I'm a 1-2 year old Cockapoo. Because of my difficult beginning in life I'm nervouse of new things. I love playing with my foster dog sister and often mimic her behavior, so I would love to find an adoptive home with an experienced dog to show me the ropes in a new home. I'm crated during the work day and keep my crate clean. I'm also houstrained, my foster mom says I deserve a gold star for how fast I caught on! I'm really enjoying our little walks around the neighborhood where I'm exposed to new sights, sounds and smells. My foster mom says she will be sad to see me go-as I'm such a sweet boy, but knows when the right, patient, caring home comes along that is willing to continue with my training I'm going to be someone's best friend!

A story from my foster mom: Alvin is timid and shy in new surroundings, but now after having him for a little over two weeks, he has to sit next to me and the other dog on the couch, often resting his head on my leg and nudging my hand as if to say "Pet me!". The other day, both dogs were laying on my bed and I left the room, my dog quickly followed me downstairs. Alvin was still up on the bed and was whining as if to say, "Hey where'd you guys go?" He finally figured it out and quickly joined us downstairs. When he wakes in the morning or after being in his crate, he has total bed head, it may be the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Alvin will be neutered, up to date on shots, is heart worm negative, is on flea and tick prevention meds, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $325.

  • You must fill out an adoption application before you are allowed to meet the animal. Please complete the adoption application located on our website.
  • Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philisophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, we must charge it.
  • We are offering a microchip placement for your resident dog for small donation to our rescue
  • Please note that we do not have a shelter, and all dogs are in foster homes.
