Dogs Needing Homes
Rocky LOVES attention and sometimes he will try to get it from his people by barking and jumping up and biting at clothing. He is not trying to hurt anyone, just trying to get what he wants!! We are working with him on this behavior by turning our backs to him without speaking and ingnoring him until he stops. He weighs about 20 pounds, and should not go to a home with small children, as he will jump up at them.
Rocky does not do this all the time, just when he is bored and looking for something to do. He just needs help learning how to settle himself down when he gets wound up. He still has some "puppy" left in him!
Rocky was surrendered by his family in MO because he developed allergies that became too expensive for the family to manage. So far in Minnesota, Rocky has not experienced an allergy problem. He is being watched closely and if he does develope allergies, he will be put on the proper medication to control them. Please email for more details on Rocky! He is a FABULOUS dog and would make a wonderul family companion!!!!
Rocky is a shih tzu who was surrendered by his previous family because they couldn't afford the medication that he needs for a skin condition. He is neutered, up to date on shots, has had a fecal, is heart worm negative, is on flea and tick prevention meds, and is micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $350.
You must fill out an adoption application before you are allowed to meet the animal. Please complete the adoption application located on our website.
Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philisophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, we must charge it.
We are offering a microchip placement for your resident dog for small donation to our rescue
Please note that we do not have a shelter, and all dogs are in foster homes. Since we strive to provide the best possible care for our animals, sometimes we cannot answer emails promptly. Please allow 48 hours for us to respond to you.
You must be 18 years of age to make an adoption request
