Dogs Needing Homes

Heckel

Breed: Cocker Spaniel Scottish Terrier Scottie

Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Description: From Heckle's foster mom: "Heckle is truly a dog that can adjust to any situation! Since Heckle has come to SDR he has been to a foster home, returned (no fault of his own), left at a shelter, and then to a new foster home. I cannot imagine anyone not wanting to keep him forever. He is the sweetest boy ever! He follows me wherever I go. He comes when he is called. He has only had one accident (poor guy has got to be a little nervous). He is clean in his kennel. He does not mark in the house and rarely marks outside even. Gets along with the other 2 dogs in the house especially the little sassy one, he loves her! He loves to cuddle, go for walks, and ride in the car."

Poor Heckle! He was adopted out from our rescue, only to have his adoptive family dump him at the Humane Society! They said they realized they weren't ready for a dog, so Heckle had to spend a night in a cage at the pound. How sad! Luckily, we have him back in the rescue foster program, and he is happy again! Heckle loves toys, and zipping around in the backyard, toy in mouth. He know his name and comes when you call him. He is full of playful energy, but will also sit quietly on his bed when you are watching TV or a quiet activity. His goal in life is to get as many pets and scritches as possible. Heckle is such a sweetheart with those big, cocker spaniel eyes looking up at you!!

Heckel is a cocker/scottie mix who was originally surrendered because he shed too much. He is 28 pounds and looks like a scottie dog with cocker spaniel paws. Heckel is a funny guy with a silly personality who likes to have his belly scratched as often as possible. He learns rules and tricks well and quickly. Although Heckel likes to play he is just as content lying on his doggy bed, or at (and sometimes on) your feet. He likes to be around all kinds of people and animals, but seems to have a special affinity for men. He was born on 11/02/06. He is happy and playful and likes to play fetch. He is neutered, up to date on shots, heart worm negative, on heart worm prevention meds, and micro-chipped. his adoption fee is $325.
