Dogs Needing Homes

Breed: Beagle

Age: Young
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Description: Meet the sweetest beagle ever! Frank is a 4 year old purebred beagle who came to us from Missouri. He is tri-colored with gorgeous brown and black dapple coloring in his white areas - a very handsome boy. He does have a few scars on his face and body, so we think he's been in a fight or two in his time. He loves people and other dogs, though he is a little on the shy side right now because everything is so new. (Especially cats... they are still new and scary.) He also LOVES dog beds, big pillows, soft throw pillows, and anything else he can snuggle into. He enjoys supervised time in the yard, and walks really well on a leash. Frank isn't a fan of his belly band, but we tell him that as soon as he aces his house training exam, he won't have to wear it any more. He is a little chubby, as many beagles are, so his new family will need to be committed to rationing his treats (or just giving him low calorie ones) and making sure that he gets his exercise. Oh, and one other endearing thing about Frank: He lays with his back legs straight out behind him and his head resting between his front paws like Superman flying to the rescue. It's adorable.

He is neutered, up to date on shots, de-wormed, heart worm tested, front lined, on heart worm preventative, and micro-chipped! He also comes with a free exam at Nokomis Pet Clinic in South Minneapolis within two weeks of his adoption. His adoption fee is $350 (plus applicable sales tax in order to comply with MN state law. Please note that SDR is opposed to the tradition of "buying" and "selling" animals, but the law isn't as progressive as many compassionate people yet. We fully support legislation that would repeal sales tax on adoption fees.)

You must fill out an adoption application before you are allowed to meet the animal. Please complete the adoption application located on our website.
