Senior Dog Spotlight: Alexi the Toy Poodle
11/4/2009 3:17 PM
Alexi is the textbook definition of a companion dog.

November is Adopt-A-Senior-Dog Month, so we're spotlighting our oh-so-adoptable seniors.  Alexi has been with us for a loooong time, and he is such a good boy.

I'm Alexi, the most adorable and sweetest poodle you will ever meet. I am about 10 years old and was rescued from a puppy mill last April. I am missing all my teeth and my jaw is a bit odd so my tongue hangs out of my mouth all the time. I think you will agree it makes me even more adorable. I am really tiny too, only 5 pounds! Which is good because I love to be held and cuddled. Currently I like to hang out with my foster mama all day long. If she leaves me for even a few minutes, when she comes back, I am so happy that I dance around and do circles in front of her! I'm okay to be alone for a little bit, but I won't relax until I know my foster mama is near. I like to lay at her feet and follow her around all day. At night I like to sleep in my bed all snuggled up on the floor next to my foster mamas bed where I can see her. I do really great at going potty outside. There has been a couple times that I have peed on my foster moms couch leg and dresser, but in my defense, it IS brown like a tree. I have only did that though when my foster mom wasn't with me. I like to go outside frequently and for short walks. My current foster mom runs a daycare, and I love all the children I get to play with everyday. Plus, even though my two foster sisters are just puppies and are really annoying, I tolerate them pretty well. I tend to not bark very much unless one of them get me going. After having a tough life, I really would like to find a forever family that will love me as much as I love them. My foster mama says I am the perfect doggie. And I have to agree.
