Emily and Brandy Need Sponsors
9/22/2009 11:57 AM
Emily

We are looking for angels in human form right now... generous people who are willing to help sponsor either Emily or Brandy for the surgeries they need.

Emily is the Jack Russell Terrier puppy who was born with a crippling luxating patella.  She is going in for surgery to correct it tomorrow and the surgery is being done by the best bone surgeon in the state.  It'll be pricey, but since she is so young, we didn't want to take any chances.

Brandy the pomeranian broke her paw this week.  She is also in need of surgery, and this was completely unexpected, so we were not prepared for it.  She also needs a high end surgeon because of the location of the break.  (Editor's note: this is one reason we drive home the message that little dogs cost big money - they're vetting expenses are often higher than big dogs for reasons like this).

These dogs would almost certainly be killed in a traditional shelter because of the expense that fixing their injuries will cost.  SDR is a no kill rescue, and we believe that every homeless dog deserves to be loved and cared for just like dogs who are lucky enough to have families who cherish them.  These girls need extra help until they find forever homes.

We thank you for your generosity.  Remember, all donations are tax deductible.
