Small Dog Rescue Doubles in Size - In One Weekend
8/12/2009 3:37 PM
Small Dog Rescue has doubled in size in only one weekend. It's amazing!
We just had our largest intake ever, with 25 dogs arriving in two days. We now have 50 dogs listed on the website. It's incredible.
We couldn't have done it without so many amazing volunteers and donors. If you helped out, whether by fostering, or donating, please accept our sincere thank you.
My husband and I drove down to Worhtington, MN to pick up 22 dogs rescued from a Nebraska puppy mill. Most of them were scared (except for Addynuff, who could barely contain her joy with such an exciting adventure) and all of them were stinky. But they were patient as we fitted them for their first collar orr harness and loated them into the van (courtesy of Coon Rapids Chrysler Jeep!) to bring them to their eager and loving foster parents.
You can see news coverage of the event (and yours truly!) here.
The dogs are settling in well. They're learning about life outside of a cage and they don't know it yet, but they're on their way to being valued members of a family. If you know anyone who can love and care for any of these dogs like they deserve to be loved and cared for, you know where to send them!
Thanks again for all of your support! (And please, keep it coming!)
