Thank You, Pam

Thanks for all you did for the dogs, Pam.

Many of us at Small Dog Rescue were saddened to hear of the passing of Pam Traetow, foster mom to Zeus and Zena.  Pam was an extraordinary woman, and that has shown even more in the past weeks.  There are very few people who will take on fostering two dogs, and despite battling terminal cancer, Pam and her family took in Zeus and Zena and treated them like their own. A special thank you to Tom and their sons for welcoming "the Z's" into your pack, as well.

In addition to fostering, Pam would show up to adoption events bearing gifts for other volunteers, often bringing window clings, silicone bracelets, and rings bearing positive messages about rescue and cancer awareness.  Just a few days after she passed, I had someone stop me and comment about the window cling on my car that was a gift from Pam: A paw-printed ribbon that reads "Until They All Have A Home".  Pam is still spreading positive messages through that gift even though she's no longer here.

This is a photo of Pam and her dog, Sugar, at a Petland protest last summer.  If she felt well enough, she was there, doing what she could to make the world better for dogs.  She will be missed.

P.S. For those wondering, Zena is in a foster home in Rochester, and Zeus is in a foster home in North Dakota.  Zeus' foster family may adopt him, but Zena is still waiting for an application.
