Welcome Dooley!
6/16/2010 9:32 AM
Dooley is a 10-pound Shih Tzu estimated to be around 9 or 10 years old. Dooley was dropped off at a vet clinic when his person died. We have no real history on him other that the fact that his person had adopted him from a shelter a year or two ago.
Being a typical Shih Tzu, Dooley does not like to have his face groomed, and he will let you know that he does not approve. He also dislikes going to the vet. However, he does like to take walks, baths, and go for car rides! Dooley has been giving a clean bill of health, apart from a cataract and luxating patellas. This basically means he has loose knees, a condition that plagues about 80% of small dogs. It does not affect him at all, and it will require no treatment.
Dooley will only be adopted out to an adult-only home. He would do best as an only dog or with another dog that is mellow. He is also good with cats. His ideal home would consist of a nice calm environment where he could take a walk in the afternoon, come home and take a nap in his dog bed or on your lap. He would be a great dog for a senior person!
