Small Dog Rescue of Minnesota (SDR) is an all-volunteer group committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of dogs 20 pounds and under.

We're thrilled to report that Wilber the chihuahua mix who escaped in Eau Claire, WI on Valentine's Day during transport from Tennessee to Small Dog Rescue was caught in a live trap early this morning and should be arriving at Small Dog Rescue by this evening.  Wilbur's story was picked up by the local television news crew in Eau Claire, and a film crew was even present during a 40 person search effort within the square mile in which he's been spotted several times.  Wilbur managed to stay alive for 11 days outside in February before finally being caught.  Everyone involved is greatly relieved.  We'll be sending him to a vet immediately for an exam and he's expected to need plenty of R&R to recouperate from his ordeal.
