Petland Protest in Shakopee

Location: Petland in Shakopee
Join us for peaceful demonstrations at Petland because Petland stores purchase puppies and kittens from mass dog and cat breeders (known as puppy and kitten mills) throughout the United States. The intense suffering of animals in mills is well documented. Peaceful store protests have proven successful in other states in educating consumers about inhumane breeding and highlighting Petland's involvement. If you can bring your own sign, please do. Some signs will be available there.
National Mutt Day Celebration Event!

In honor of National Mutt Day Leashes and Leads will be holding an event featuring SDR and other non-breed specific rescues in SE MN. Come on out and Strut Your Mutt!

Come and meet the dogs! Our adoption events are a great way to meet a bunch of our foster dogs at one time and to see if there's a love connection before filling out an adoption application. Resident dogs are welcome to come and meet potential dog siblings, too!
Petland Protest in Saint Paul

This is going to be a fun one, guys! We're there for two hours this time, because now we know how much they don't want us there. And that means we're making an impact.
We will not be parking in the strip mall lot this time because of concerns about that lot being privately owned and the owners not wanting us parking there, so we'll be parking in the Park N Ride lot behind the strip mall and walking to our designated demo area on the public easement in front of the mall.
We will have signs, but we always love to see the creative signs people bring with them, too. We'd like this to be a big one since we know we're starting to get under their skin. The sooner they get the message that supporting puppy and kitten mills is actually bad for their business, the better.

PS - Our demo photo this time of of Pam Traetow, who passed away last week. Pam was a fighter - of cancer and for the dogs. She will be missed. And because I know you'll worry, Sugar the dog is being cared for by Pam's husband, Tom.
